Reform have come out with a new policy to put migrant detention centres in Green-voting areas. Some love it, some hate it. And some of the people that hate it are quite surprising.

Restore Britain, and many of its most vocal supporters, have totally condemned the policy as fundamentally un-British, saying it penalises all manner of innocent people who won’t have even voted Green.

Banksy has come out with a new statue, stealthily installed in central London in the dead of night, in order to evade the council, who then loudly proclaimed how much they loved the piece.

Whether he was given permission or not (and he almost certainly was), Banksy is the very epitome of a Regime artist.

But what does that mean in the year of our Lord 2026?

For me, there are two main strands to consider. The first is the endless political rebellion that the left are engaged in against a straw man conservative establishment, probably manned by Jacob Rees-Mogg’s great-great-grandfather.

By the time Banksy defaced his first shopping centre, this ruling class was already long gone. But it suits the left’s self-image to tilt at this particular windmill, long after it has been incorporated into the vast wind farm of progressivism.

We see it in comedians like Stewart Lee, publications like Private Eye, and most rock stars, with a few noble exceptions. It is a perpetual pose of rebellion against a fantasy enemy, when the reality is they’ve reached the top and had to stop and that’s what’s bothering them.

We all easily recognise this nonsense by now, and there are numerous memes about the performative rebelliousness of those whose views align with all major corporations and state institutions.

Perhaps the more interesting question, then, is whether state-approved art can ever be any good. I’m certainly no art historian, but it strikes me that in simpler times, when belief in God was almost ubiquitous, and belief in one’s own culture was virtually a given, art commissioned by those in power was often of extraordinary quality.

One thinks of Pope Julius II (AKA the ‘Warrior Pope’) essentially forcing Michelangelo to paint the Sistine Chapel ceiling. Or Count Franz von Walsegg commissioning Mozart’s Requiem in D Minor. And there are many more examples we could cite where artistic works being requested, or even demanded, by figures of authority did not compromise the work, and perhaps even pushed the artist to further greatness.

Sorry I haven’t been posting as much on here. Part of it is due to some problems with my throat and voice, which, after a series of incredibly fun tests, I have now pretty much got to the bottom of and will hopefully start to improve.

As such, I am going to attempt a live Q & A type show for paying subscribers. I’m thinking of doing it on Sunday afternoon, but am open to changing that if not convenient.

My working title for this is ‘Tea With Nick D’.

Though since I came up with this brilliant title, I am now not supposed to drink tea, and instead have to drink water, in quantities more typical of a smallish camel.

Gawain Towler has made some interesting comments about the threat of Restore Britain to Reform UK, so I decided to respond and look at some of the core arguments in this increasingly heated, and at times frankly nasty, debate.

What I like about Gawain is that he’s quite reasonable, and doesn’t adopt the arrogant condescension that other prominent members of Reform seem to delight in.

Thus we can have a sensible debate, and I responded here in the same spirit.

She appears to have been cryogenically frozen at the moment of peak woke, then thawed out just in time to destroy her husband’s presidential run.

While Psycho Gav is pretending to be moderate and constantly reaching ‘across the aisle’, his wife is busy trying to bring back gender madness, and the censorship of pre-Musk X.

There is also some irregularities in her accusations against Harvey Weinstein, and her massive charity payments to herself.

I couldn’t resist breaking it all down in one of my classic reaction videos, so have a watch below.

Kanye West—now ‘Ye’, though British media doesn’t seem to be respecting his proper nouns—has been banned from the UK (now ‘Yookay’).

Keir Starmer, a man far more hated than Mr Ye will ever be, said:

Kanye West should never have been invited to headline Wireless. This government stands firmly with the Jewish community, and we will not stop in our fight to confront and defeat the poison of antisemitism. We will always take the action necessary to protect the public and uphold our values.

The public might wonder where this protection is when it comes to, say, a Hamas chief getting a £112,000 discount on his council house, or grooming gang ringleaders we apparently can’t deport, or Afghan migrants who rape 12-year-old girls.

But when it comes to edgy rappers who are possibly mental, we suddenly have a border. Not to mention Canadian YouTuber Lauren Southern, Dutch commentator Eva Vlaardingerbroek, and elderly French writer Renaud Camus, who have all been denied entry due to being not ‘conducive to the public good’.

We’re supposed to believe these people are worse than the seemingly endless parade of terrorists and rapists we welcome into the country with open arms (or robotic limbs in Starmer’s case).

Starmer promises to ‘uphold our values’. The question is, to go a bit Jordan Peterson for a second, what do you mean by ‘our’, and what do you mean by ‘values’?

‘Our’ turns out to mean the political class, which despises the native population and only worries about its own survival against the escalating onslaught of reality, and ‘values’ means whatever is the ‘current thing’. This week it’s Ye, previously it was an anti-white Netflix propaganda piece called Adolescence, tomorrow it will be something equally stupid.

None of this will make the British people safer or better off in any way; it will only cause further demoralisation.

Not that I am necessarily ‘going to bat’ for Ye. Obviously he has said all kinds of wild things aimed at causing maximum offence. Though I do think it became so cartoonish as to be hard to take seriously. He somehow found a way to cram all the most offensive words into a three-word song title, which was impressive in its concision if nothing else.

Ye himself is blaming mental health in his many apologies, linking his behaviour to a frontal-lobe injury, following a car crash, that wasn’t properly diagnosed until 2023. But this seems to carry no weight with those who wish to cancel him. I have no idea if his mental health is the true cause. If it is, I can sympathise, partly due to my own fairly extensive mental health challenges, and because members of my family have taken their own lives. Although such claims are overused in a culture that rewards minor problems with BMWs, there’s no doubt the mental struggle is horrifically real, or that head injuries are linked with erratic behaviour.

I recently watched the film The Lives of Others, which, as you probably know, is set in the German Democratic Republic, and which, for some reason, is about as hard to get hold of as ‘subversive’ Western literature was during that regime.

I ended up having to order it on DVD. Remember those? For Zoomers, they were like small plates that you had to put into a little cupboard to make your films come on. Luckily, I had already bought a mini DVD player for the purpose of watching films that stubbornly refuse to be streamable in my ‘region’, as if I live in the Arctic amongst the Inuit, rather than in one of the world’s major financial centres.

There was a panicked moment where I thought I had bought the German version, and a second panicked moment when I realised there were English subtitles, but I’d lost the controller I needed to navigate the menu and turn them on. I’m simply not used to the world of physical objects.

When I finally got it working I was, as the kids perhaps still say, blown away by the movie. Yet on another level, I was furious. Furious, that is, with our own nascent attempts to imitate the appalling communist regime in the emergent Yookay.

Yes, I understand the film isn’t completely accurate and employs artistic licence. And yes, bothering Allison Pearson in her dressing gown can’t quite compete with 24 hour surveillance of comprehensively bugged homes, or carefully typed up reports of every argument with one’s girlfriend. Our Regime is as incompetent as it is sinister.

But still, there are similarities. The fear of speaking one’s mind, the knocks on the door looking for subversive literature (‘Brexity’ books, anyone?). With allegedly more speech arrests than China and Russia (12,000 a year as of September 2025, according to the Telegraph) we are well on our way to imitating the paranoid, moronic, yet highly destructive state portrayed in the film.

We, too, have had suicides. Peter Lynch springs to mind, the man who killed himself in prison, a victim of Starmer’s two-tier terror following the horror of the Southport murders.

I don’t know if you saw, but Ipswich Town’s chairman issued a grovelling apology over Nigel Farage being invited to the club.

This, along with the club’s nauseating statement, shows that we still live in the woke world when it comes to big organisations, who feel they must bend the knee to DEI.

It is also bizarre that the club would feel the need to apologise for hosting the leader of a party currently polling as the most popular in the country.

I cover all this in my new video, and go on to talk about why we shouldn’t accept DEI or even the term ‘racist’, which even Advance UK are now using.
