With both Southport and Henry Nowak it was obvious that Starmer was more angry with the natives for being disobedient than he was that the horrific events had happened.
His energy was devoted to clamping down on unrest (sorry, "far-right thuggery"), not stopping murders from happening.
He "loves his country" by which he means its legal definition of a sovereign state. Unfortunately he hated all its native inhabitants, particularly the far right non-Labour voters, and this hatred was deservedly reciprocated big time.
Brilliant writing Nick. I especially like this bit which I was banging on about this morning, though you have put it better.
"Burnham will soon end up hated, and his already irritating selfie with the strategically-placed Labour Fembots (whom they still don’t quite trust to lead) will age about as well as the dancing nurses of the Covid era."
I wouldn’t vote Labour at gunpoint, but I was prepared to give Starmer a chance up until the end of his first week in power and his reaction to Southport. There he was all cocky, thinking his “landslide” made him invulnerable to what the hated, racist masses thought. Incandescent with rage that anyone could be upset by one of his precious foreigners killing three little girls. Well he’s had his comeuppance and good riddance. Worst ever.
I've hated him since his nightly television rounds as Shadow Brexit Secretary, when he kept repeating the nonsense argument for having Brexit whilst staying in the single market and customs union; with that nasal whine and look of a startled rabbit (before the freebie specs).
He even couldn't help himself with the Makerfield result; describing it as a vote for hope, not hate and division - instantly labelling 48% of the electorate as ‘haters’. Missing the obvious that the other 52% voted for the man whose express intent was to displace him. One could argue then, that everyone voted with hate (or at least intense dislike). Of you, Starmer.
Well said, Nick. There is a belief that many on this planet are without 'souls'; for me KS is the most 'soulless' PM, ever with eyes as dead as those of a zombie - AB looks to be another. Poor UK, poor us.

At least he's (nearly) gone and good riddance! I was thinking that "One Kier" might be a good title for his book.
Delusional to the very end.

Thanks Geoff.

Fairly apt that after all the things that have happened on his watch the only thing that moved him to tears was the thought of losing his job
"I, Kier". Love it Nick!😂

(At your service) 🤣🤣🤣🤣 class
Cracking stuff. Me, wryly giving up hope upon reading Cummings section. A truly well researched, well written shot to the heart 😂
One gone, only to be replaced by another. It’s a conveyor belt of rancid:
A - fuckery
B - sociopaths
C - authoritarianism
D - all of the above
