I’m glad that I live a long way from London, in a village outside a small rural town where almost everyone is white British and there is a real sense of community. In my village everyone says “hello” when walking past people, the town has regular community events and crime is low. It’s one of the last bastions of England (the flags are still flying proudly) and I just hope it lasts.

I live in London, have done for over 40 years, I used to go everywhere, North and South of the river, it is not the same city. This is not anecdotal, it is from experience, London is NOT safe, no longer safe.

I also have lived in London for 40 years and I concur. A lot of the capital is now a sh*thole, and the nice parts are noticeably less nice than they were. Litter, graffiti, levels of general courtesy, blatant flaunting of what were considered basic norms of behaviour in public spaces, brazen shoplifting and endemic fare dodging, to name a few.

This reminds me of a very old joke about Soviet Russia, which is something like this: Kruschev is telling a worker how many new homes are being built in Moscow "every day new blocks are going up Tverskaya Street." The worker says "but comrade, I walk down that street every day and I do not see any new buildings". Khrushchev hands him a copy of Pravda which has a front page showing cranes and building works and tells him "he needs to read the newspapers more and stop believing his own eyes".

I lived all over East London between 1988-1993. You could see the changes happening then and everyone was moving out to Essex (not just white people, generally just nice people!).

Obviously I've been back over the years and we've had some lovely family visits too.

Last year though...whoah!!! It's absolutely mental how much it looks like a repository for the third world. My advice to anyone living in the SE is...get out while you can!

I've lived on the edge of London for 30 years. I recently complained to a councillor about graffiti and abandoned rubbish. This wouldn't have happened a few years ago. I also saw a van driving around with weird foreign writing on it instead of English. This is Home Counties England in 2025 and people who deny that things have changed are deluded or liars.

Finkelstein was a member of the Labour party, then moved to the SDP, then was a senior advisor for the Conservatives for years and in the last election wanted Labour to win. I suggest this means you cannot believe a single word he says.

Went to the Backyard Comedy Club last night (Bethnal Green), didn't feel safe on the tube or the streets. Have also visited Whitechapel in autumn, I would liken it to being on a different continent. If I were Jewish I'd be planning to leave, it is only a matter of time before the tidal wave of migrants washes over North London.

The Honourable Kirstie Allsop (her real title) lives in a house in Honiton, Devon. I looked up the crime stats :

"In February 2022, Honiton had the worst crime rate in Devon for theft from the person, with 1 crime reported and a crime rate of 0.08 per 1,000 daytime population. March 2016 was also a bad month for Honiton residents, when it was again Devon's most dangerous area for theft from the person, recording 1 crime at a rate of 0.09 per 1,000 daytime population"

London may be a bit rough and tumble from time to time of course but there are no grooming gangs ( Im sure Id have noticed when I went to The Royal Albert Hall for a gig) and that’s a relief because all other things being equal one would expect grooming gangs to be off the charts, but, fortunately, the girls are safe👍🏻

You mentioned Which (typo) crimes. Surely if you are highlighting witches crimes, then wizards should me covered too.

Or is this a cultural issue, as they could be described as witch doctors, engineers, as opposed to small boat scroungers.

Hope you guys are keeping your fuckin shoes on.
