I think you're right, Nick. The woke left is absolutely evil and you must fight fire with fire.

I agree 100% with your views, Nick.

In fact I'd go as far as stating that DT is the West's best chance of saving itself.

There isn't much time.

I think this was a brilliant paragraph Nick, when talking about the cenotraph example.

'But by flooding our country with people who despise us, and by abusing the education system to teach our own citizens to despise themselves, we need new rules to defend our culture against those who would happily destroy it.'

The other problem is that the Labour government are also on board with destroying our culture. They have the power and the means to do so. So we have government against our culture, the civil service, the public sector, quango's as well as Labour supporters and other motivated individuals.

I've always preferred the 'free market' argument towards cancellation which is that - if you don't like it then don't buy it. Those who agree with your argument rally around you, those that don't will go elsewhere. Fortunately there are many decentralised ways to reach an audience and make a living, like here on substack for example.

That said, the left don't leave it at that. Free market choice isn't enough for them. They want to go beyond that and punish dissidents. Spitefully they achieve cancellations by contacting your employers, your customers, your advertisers or however else you are funded. They track the money back and go after it.

But do you stop/win a war by eliminating the opposition? Or does killing one of your opponents' tribe merely recruit 20x more of them?

I'd say it's more effective to behave differently, take the moral high ground, point out what the 'woke left' would have done and instead explain how you will behave, because you are better than that.

I guess my main point is that the left aren't all Orcs. Some of them are decent people who believe they are doing 'right'. In fact, I'd say a major problem with those on the left is their own conviction. They believe they are doing this for 'good', that they are 'on the right side of history'. They epitomise the road to hell being paved with good intentions.

I think discrediting that and showing you have better values brings people over to your own side.

The difference between those on the left and Orcs (perhaps the only difference?) is....people on the left can change. They can see the error of their ways. Yes, they may be Orcs today....but tomorrow they may be Jordan Peterson.

OK OK....that's perhaps quite a leap....but people can and do change. And they do so when people forgive them, rather than retrench. It can be a catalyst for them see the error of their ways, eventually.
