Personally, I am concerned that all this non-news about a football commentator is actually just being used as a distraction from anything that is actually important. Take your pick, the collapse of a US bank, massive excess deaths, Ukrainian suspected sabotage of Nord Stream pipeline, actual mass illegal immigration, etc, etc, take your pick. Stop indulging in this bread and circus nonsense and get back to reporting serious stuff. I also think MOTD was better without the blah blah blah nonsense.
Is this in fact age related - the BBC booted out the antique radio old guard and footballers retire in early 30s so new talent fans relate to is available all the time Lineker is less relevant than someone who just played with the guys in the screen and so has more interesting things to say it’s a couple of decades since Lineker booted in anger in sports terms he is a dinosaur
