Hello. It is Nick. What a week! Or however long it’s been since the mainstream media tried to cancel my entire workplace. They also made a lame attempt to cancel me individually. And yet here I am, stronger than yesterday, now it’s nothing but my way (to quote a great woman).
All this chaos, plus the moving of the podcast release from Fridays to Mondays (purely to help our producer) has resulted in me failing to put out these Substacks.
But I am back now, and urging you, politely, to listen to my episode with Dr James Orr, Associate Professor of Philosophy of Religion at the University of Cambridge, and jolly clever chap.
James talks about:
-His conclusions from the recent NatCon conference
-Whether there is any hope for the Conservative Party
-Why the Tories have failed to fight the culture war
-His definition of 'conservatism'
-The flaws of liberalism
-What role Christianity should play in our society
-Where the Church of England is going wrong
-Whether it's useful to be a 'Cultural Christian'
-What he learnt from taking part in the Daily Wire's Exodus series with Jordan Peterson
-Why he went from atheism to Christianity
-Why our 'culture of androgyny' is damaging relations between men and women
-His thoughts on the mainstream media attack on GB News
-Whether Britain is finished
-How to win the culture war
and lots more!
Watch the full episode here:
Or listen on Apple, Spotify, Podbean.
And while we’re here, you may have missed my recent podcast with Rev Dr Jamie Franklin, the second of our Bible series. This time we looked in depth at Cain and Abel, and it was ruddy good. You can watch that here, and listen here, or all the usual places.
And if you want to support The Current Thing and my other projects, you can buy me a digital coffee here. Many thanks.
And btw I have just recorded an absolutely killer new episode on masculinity, to be released on Monday.
God bless,
Nick
Interesting! And, had never heard of the Edmund Burke Foundation. Always good to get views from a non hysterical perspective. 'They' seem to want to 'turn up the volume' on issues like the climate, health, characters like Zelensky, so that people are more likely to take on the madness
of mobs. The individual becomes the 'enemy' because they stand out from 'the mob' and against the authoritarians in power, presenting a faux concern for "safety " for all. Thanks for putting it on.
