Lately I keep hearing the phrase ‘woke right’. Apparently coined, or at least promulgated, by Konstantin Kisin. It’s a catchy term, but what does it actually mean?
The obvious implication is that elements of the right are now the same as—or perhaps more accurately ‘as bad as’—the woke left. The idea that the furthest reaches of the left and right meet up in a circular fashion is of course nothing new, as Konstantin covers in his video on the subject. But the ‘woke’ aspect lends this concept a new spin.
The suggestion is that the so-called ‘woke right’ are taking up anti-Western, anti-liberal positions in a somewhat knee-jerk fashion, in a manner similar to what I have also seen called ‘based Third-worldist’. The accusation is that the likes of Tucker Carlson—and one might add Andrew Tate, and others—are now so disgusted with the ‘libtard’ West that they will foolishly take up virtually any anti-Western position, even if it means becoming, the claim goes, a ‘useful idiot’ for the likes of Putin.
In addition, there is a concern that parts of the right are applying the same general extremism, inflexibility, and aggressive censoriousness as the woke left.
