Thoroughly enjoyed those moments Nick thank you. There is so much in his writings and thoughts. My own is the stable scene in Book 7 The Final Battle.
During the final events, several characters (including the dwarfs) are thrown into or enter the stable during the battle. From the outside, it’s a tiny, ordinary stable. But once inside:
For the faithful (Tirian, the children, true Narnians, etc.), the stable is a gateway to something far greater a beautiful, expansive paradise (the “real” Narnia, leading into Aslan’s Country). It’s bigger on the inside than the outside, filled with light, grass, flowers, and joy.
The dwarfs, however, experience only darkness. They believe they’re still crammed in a smelly little stable, eating scraps and sitting in filth. Even when Aslan provides them with a magnificent feast, they perceive it as old turnips, dirty water, and stable rubbish. They fight over it, suspicious of each other.
Aslan explains that they have shut themselves off from the truth. Their cynicism and refusal to believe (after being burned once) has become a self-imposed prison. Lucy feels deep sorrow for them, and Aslan says something like: “They will not let me help them. They have chosen cunning instead of belief, their prison is only in their own minds, yet they are in that prison; and so afraid of being taken in that they cannot be taken out.”
Excellent, and with immediate application to the Makerfield by-election, and the question of whether Restore should field a candidate.
While some may worry about splitting the vote and pile up consequentialist analyses that favour inaction, the most Reepicheepian, principled, and honourable answer is obvious.
Brilliant, Nick. Well done for zeroing in on Puddleglum's speech about the nature of reality - one of the really outstanding passages in the Chronicles. One of the others being when Lucy, looking over the side of the Dawn Treader, looks into the eyes of the fish-herdsess and knows they are friends. Gives me a tingle just writing this.

Thanks. True that is the principled approach. Though I’m not totally convinced Restore are doing the right thing strategically but let’s see.
