I am looking forward to this as the last one, like so much of your work, Nick, introduced me to something new and thought-provoking. I also loved hearing your views and general comments throughout and they definitely added to the Cummings speech itself for me, as did those listeners’ thoughts on the content which you read out. Unfortunately, I found the pauses (mostly early on) to read out what were just listeners’ greetings or thanks very distracting. Hope there will be less of that his time. (Sorry to be a little bit negative in my first post on here. Love you really!)

Looking forward to this. Great to see you looking so well on Late Edition last night, although I think you may have confused them with anarcho tyranny! Keep doing what you're doing!

Thanks! It’s hard when you’re so much more talented than everyone.

It must be! Shame you and Paul or Leo can't be on at the same time. I've always thought they don't realise you funny guys "bounce" off each other.

Hopefully we'll do a livestream.

The mention of Powell wanting to die in the war made me think of the parallels between him and General Charles Gordon, who famously had a sort of death wish, and famously took huge risks in combat.

Like Powell, a truly great man of history. Highly intelligent and accomplished, completely self-reliant, and often misunderstood by others. Carl and Beau did a very good episode on him in the Lotuseaters' Epochs series, and The Rest is History likewise did a couple on Gordon himself and the Siege of Khartoum. Fascinating stuff.

First things firsr - GREAT to hear more Chaka Demus and Pliers! We all need to hear the rap, it's a must.

I'm about 40 minutes in and aside from the obvious and overwhelming strength of Powell's argument, a most striking thing is the manner in which he makes it. Always cogent, courteous, and erudite. He was a master orator. You can hear his opponents spluttering and completely floundering.

Great idea this.
