‘Nick Dixon Dares...’ (he dares to say whatever is on his mind, dares to present genuine rebels in his pod, dares to find the laugh where no one else can, dares..... Not your fault, but a) ‘conservative’ as a brand is dog 💩 in the UK at moment. Who the heck wants to associate with them? And also, how many Conservative Politicians would stand up for YOU and your free speech, Nick? Er, zero, except possibly mr Bridgen.

Yes that’s pretty good but drop the ‘Nick’ - just go with Dixon Dares for the alliterative affect (yes I know it should be ‘effect’ but ....).

Or maybe it could be an anti net zero podcast and then go with “Dixon of Mock Green” (sorry that’s one for the older readers - not even sure that’ll mean anything to Nick)

Conservative is not synonymous with Tory. There are many true conservatives form Reclaim to Reform UK outside of the Tory Party, which I agree has not been conservative for a very long time (Pre-Heath, Thatcher was a Libertarian) - the aim should be to wrestle the word conservative back from the Torys. Classic Liberal does not work as the word Liberal can mean anything to the public, from conservative in Australia to Leftist to many in the USA. Happy if you can come up with a new word as I agree conservative is many syllables and is tainted by association with Tory, who were formerly the nasty party and now socialists.

Can u alternate live Weekly Sceptic between England and Scotland ? 10-15 quid a ticket?

Yes conservative rebel is the wrong name and will limit your audience. Just go with The Nick Dixon show and raise your personal brand awareness 😁

Agree you should drop ‘conservative’. It confines you to a pigeon hole.

Ps that wasn’t bad, you should consider late night radio 4 if all else fails. Perhaps the shipping forecast…?

Please sit in front of a camera while doing your podcast. Don't care much about what you say, just think you're an absolute smokeshow.

The title is a good title and sums up the dilemma most conservatives are in right now - there is no actual conservative representation in the Conservative party.

People who are repelled by the word “conservative” are not your audience - they are the same people who will unfollow you when you post a picture of yourself and the top g. Best filter out these holier than thou SJWs. We can all see that no good can come of the tories trying to score with the woke crowd and yet they continue… The base is yearning for some prime red meat.

Thanks Marianne. I wasn't concerned about alienating those people (the guests and me will do that just by existing). It's just whether it's weird when you have non-conservatives on, eg far left Andrew Doyle.

I would drop the word "Conservative", too many negative associations and very easy to dismiss. I hesitate "liking" or forwarding anything with the word "Conservative" attached as I know that many (most) friends will simply ignore it. I find far fewer ideas I would want to share that are badged by asssociation as "Green", "Labour" or "Socialist" but I would have the same hesitancy. I have no suggestions of course, easier to find fault than to be creative but I think a name/brand that suggests "normality" or "common sense" as currently being an act of rebellion could work. Good luck with the podcast!

I’d go to a live weekly sceptic Nick. Loving the pod. £15 sounds ok

I'm becoming increasingly impressed by Ben Habib - particularly around his stance on the Union. Would love to hear you interview him. Also, Kate Hoey - always measured and sensible. Wonder what would happen if the DUP fielded candidates in Scotland - or even England for that matter. That might show us where the strength of Unionism really lies...Interesting - well, to me anyway possibly not to others.

Previously posted below, but I would like to add Dame Arlene Foster to the list - I am a massive, massive fan!!! So pragmatic, so unequivocal and, like Kate Hoey, so measured.

In a group discussion including Foster and Hoey: Question for Arlene and Kate - Could the DUP be a force in Scotland and, if it could, how might that strengthen the DUP's position in Westminster. I would love to hear that discussion! I think the DUP could be a real force in a devolved Scottish Parliament, but could it win seats in Westminster. Fascinating scanario. Pro-Independence political party fights against Pro-Unionist political party - it's a 50/50 binary vote. Labour Party and Conservative Party consigned to the margins.

Sorry to add that to my wish list Nick. But, DUP could upset the apple-cart - and that would change the game for a Labour win at the next General Election. While we do have proportional representation in Scotland it doesn't apply at a General Election. But it does apply in other elections.

Arelene Foster as First Minister of Scotland - positive vote from me for that. Now, that could change Brexit outcomes. I wonder, I wonder, I wonder...

Conservative Revolutionary would be more punchy, plus hilarious. Also if you could possibly segue on GB News to talk about Project Veritas catching that Pfizer exec talking about mutating viruses which they assiduously avoid that would be great. If you don't know what I'm talking about here is a link -

Are they avoiding it? We'll cover it on Weekly Sceptic. I thought about doing an article on it too.

I haven't seen any clips about it on their channel, maybe there is a D-notice, I don't know. The only MSM that I have seen covering this is Tucker Carlson.

'Revolutionary' better than 'Rebel'....perhaps brings to mind a 'rebel without a cause'..somewhat inspid image, whereas 'revolutionary' brings to mind more 'derring do', desire to upset multiple apple carts, of which there are now so many clogging up politics, msm, etc, there could well be a case for cloning. Ditch 'rebel' anyway....a punchier moniker called for.

You need to interview Mark Steyn next, Nick, to ask him why GBN are allowing themselves to be bullied into silence by Ofcom.

I'd happily do a live Weekly Sceptic - agree £15-£20 sounds about right. Maybe get one of the Headliners/Free Speech Nation gang to do a topical 10 minute bit as part of the show?

The Nick 'Big Dog' Dixon Show has a nice ring. They better not make a habit of bumping you off Headliners. Really enjoyed the New Years Eve headliners show, best thing on telly that night. I would attend a live show but live in the South West so would need to be a weekend, £15-20 to support the cause.
