This evening, Rishi Sunak emerged from Downing Street around 5:45pm to give a special speech, ostensibly on the dangers of Islamic extremism. Better late than never, some might say. Yet it turned out to be just another infuriating indictment of the utterly failed project known as the Conservative Party.
I was amazed that he felt it necessary to give a special speech. When I accidentally tuned into it I thought he was going to announce the next step in our demented war with Russia or something else of grave importance. Thankfully I was back watching "Heartbeat" within a minute.
You have nailed it Nick. Bloody Sunak must be living in a parallel universe where all this shit has been going on under a different government for the last 14 years. Also, Nick Griffin...seriously? I bet most people under 40 have not even heard of him. The so called far right are not a threat. Probably never have been. A few kids on the internet in their bedrooms maybe. I think Hitchens is right and this country is fucked. If I was not so bloody old and decrepit I would emigrate. So I might as well hang around and bugger up the Lefties as much as I still can.
