Nick mate, big love from Lincolnshire here. Knew you'd been ill, didn't realise how bad. Glad you're better-ish. Chalk up another vomit-hater here so sympathies. Keep up the good work BigDog, we love your input on GB, and your podacsts with likes of Jamie Franklin, Calvin Robinson and Andrew Doyle are outstanding IMHO.
We care about you Nick - positive spin on your experience if you were more middle class would be you had a purge & a two and a half day fast - there is a canned drink called nutrition that can be a life saver if you can keep nothing down (favourite of the homeless) - good luck with your house hunt & may it be 6 years if you do move that it is 6 years or more to puke, oh really interesting pod - I do hope you get him on again he had some great perspectives & stage hypnotism is really fascinating - I never expected to like until I went. Funny Leo behaving against type...
Just with Toby on wanker case - synecdoche - when women have behaved like wankers ive called them that they masturbate after all the phenomena of ejeculation is not required, its erasing female masturbation is the ruling
The issue of evolution was raised with Alister & I think it would be fascinating for you to get on a biologist to discuss the matter. Denis Noble of Oxford is a measured & interesting speaker on the matter & not strident & arrogant his vision of evolution chimes with mine & I independantly struck on the idea of relativity in evolution mine from ecology his from a physiological stance, I commend his books which recentre the individual & not the gene - he is also a warm & very clear speaker with a humility & humanity
Evolution is not about chance but the exploitation of chance & selection of the more adapted variant. It is a kite that suits wind conditions & thus the environment in which it operates is important but the specifics of the kite are too
Hi Nick and in case you get despondent again. The purpose of life is to become a people for the praise of God's glory. This may sound trite, but unpacked its bloody glorious. Because God is eternal there is no 'end point' its is an ongoing purpose, so don't get muddled with what's the point. A significant part of our purpose in the here and now is growing into the image of God, an image currently pretty broken but not irreparable. This image is a balance of both physical (because we are embodied) and spiritual aspects. There are both common bones which should be common to all and diverse individuality in both areas to start practicing and getting better at in the realisation this both reflects God and also therefore resonates with the basic energy of life. But illness death and all sorts of other issues and disempowerments can thwart progress in the here and now for both aspects, even if this is not ultimately stopped for heaven. The primary purpose of someone who is ill is clearly to get better so you can get back on the restoring the image wagon, and this may take intelligent patience. But if in the end you cannot in the here and now (you will in heaven) then the backstop is both intelligently identifying the aspects of maybe a slower wagon, but also eventually identifying more with Christ's procession toward the cross where Christ defeats the futility of evil suffering and death by also stamping his image upon it. Even these things, even if not to be welcomed are by faith are by appointment to His majesty and so retain the purpose of reflecting God's image. Purpose is available anywhere if only we would wake up and notice. It can take a while and repetition to believe such things so they do take on the power to affect your outlook, but the fallen human body and mind is a tricky instrument to learn to play in his image. Learning anything takes practice and needs guaranteed forgiveness so you know you can carry on. Don't give up, and best wishes.
Dear Nick. I CARE ABOUT YOU!! I am so sorry to hear you think that no-one cares. You are one of my favourite podcaster and I look forward to all your appearances on whichever media I find you. We need you so don’t ever feel like that again! God bless 🙏❤️
I generally don't ask people if they're feeling better when they're ill on the basis that I'll hear about it if they're not 😂
Sorry to hear you were unwell Nick. We value what you’re doing. All the best
Thanks!

Thanks so much! My dad is from Lincolnshire.
Nick, sorry too hear you’ve been ill. Hate vomiting too, had enough of it when I was younger. It’ll pass.
Thank you.
